Energy, excitement, pride and love — These are some of the ingredients it takes to live life with passion. You’ve got to bring energy and excitement to everything you do, you’ve got to take pride in your accomplishments and yourself, and you’ve got to love every day.
And, most importantly, you have to be happy–because if you’re happy, you’re more likely to see opportunities instead of challenges, lessons instead of losses.
Of course, some days are better than others, and it can be hard to find happiness when life seems to be dead set on tripping you. But if you put your mind to it–if you make a conscious decision to be happy–you can turn life’s tragedies into comedies, own them, learn from them and use them for daily inspiration.
Wake up happy. Stuart Smalley may have taken the daily affirmation a little too far during his “Saturday Night Live” skits, but he had the right idea. If you wake up, look in the mirror and make the first thought you have a happy one, you’re setting the tone–a positive tone–for the rest of the day.
Snap out of the negative. If you find yourself constantly thinking negative thoughts, put a rubber band around your wrist and snap it. Eventually, you’ll want to stop thinking negatively because your wrist will be sore. It hurts a little, but it works a lot.
Play. Ever notice how kids are always so happy? It’s probably because they make time to play. Mindless playing–video games, sports, cards–can recharge your mental batteries and remind you that life is fun. Making time to play every day should give you daily inspiration to be happy.
Find inspiration. If you feel yourself getting down, fire up the Internet, log onto websites and find daily inspiration.
There are a lot of websites out there that will inspire you and help rekindle that flame in your spirit, such as Sentenced2Life, that provide words of wisdom and encouragement. Log on, get inspired and live a happy, full life–one with energy, excitement, pride and love.
